Haven’t stopped listening to these guys all weekend. Young the Giant, an alternative rock band, formed in Irvine, California in 2004. Originally named The Jakes, the band went through a collaboration of members, ranging from high school to college students. After releasing the EP, “Shake My Hand,” the band shortly thereafter decided to put their schooling on hold to focus on music. J In 2009 the band played four shows at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. In December, the band announced they had changed their name to Young the Giant.

Random Thoughts

Morning,

I was walking to class and had a random thought that I’d like to blog on this Monday morning (can’t believe it is March already. Damn.) Anyway, have you ever thought of the universal things humans do to interact with each other and why we do them? Hugging and kissing are two things that make sense, for we show affection towards each other through these actions. There are other actions, though, that are a bit questionable.

Let me identify a few (and yes I am guilty of doing these things):

-fist pound (with or without explosion)

          - special “hand shake”

         - calling each other “bitch” or “pussy”

        - When someone says, “hey whats going on?,” one automatically replies, “I’m good

you?” haha- I love that one

If you have any to add let me know, but these are a few I identified. Why do humans perform these actions? I understand it may be another form of interaction but I think society has lost the simple, “hey, how are you?” phrase. Instead it’s, “What’s good bitch?” Crazy thought. May be going a bit drastic here, but I like pushing food for thought. Cheers.

Going to see them next Tuesday in Bloomington, IN. Should be a sick concert even though the lead singer looks straight odd. You agree? Let me know what you think..

Michael Jackson lives inside Chris Brown no doubt. This video shows how..

I’m Back (Let the games begin..)

Hey Tumblrs,

Sorry for the disappearance. I believe my last blog was when Indiana’s Christian Watford hit the game winning shot against Kentucky in December. Since then, a lot has happened in the life of Lucas Crowley. I am back at DePauw University and it is crazy how much has changed since being in Aussie Land. From fraternity life, to girls, to drama, this place is encapsulated with pointless life turmoils that society calls college. Nonetheless, I enjoy it (minus the drama part).

Fraternity life is um, well, interesting. The guys in my house are great but it is just an atmosphere I don’t think I am suited for. From the five day bingers to cold dorm mysteries, it feels like I am living in foreign territory.

Then there is the girl situation… First off, girls, excuse me, WOMEN, are complicated individuals. One day you may understand how they feel about you then the next day, it is like you don’t even understand the same women you have been talkin to for awhile. IT IS NUTS!! I am not gunna get into my situation, for this is not an emotional blog (if you really want to know hit me up).

Finally, drama. If this world eliminated secrets, back stabbers, and gossip fuelers, it would be a better place, don’t you think? 100% true. DePauw University, if you have no idea what or where this place is, is a small D3 college that is what I call a, “glorified high school.” With 2500 students populating the school and with 74% of the students Greek affiliated, almost everyone knows everyone either by name or on a personal basis. With that working against anyone at this school, drama is on high priority at this university. Sounds miserable right? It’s not all half bad, but some people just need to calm down and keep their business to themselves. Full stop.

In conclusion, I want to go back to Aussie land as soon as possible. For the time being, I have this blog to clear my mind and can’t wait for my followers to hear more about my exciting life haha.

 Cheers Tumblrs.

Thought For The Day

Do you ever wonder what next life’s next big leap is? Maybe it is a near death experience that flips one’s perception upside down or maybe it is someone that enters your life unexpectedly. Regardless, life throws something at you constantly. One just has to understand how to deal. Since being in Australia, I have seen every pitch a pitcher has in his arsenal. With my departure coming in two weeks from Saturday, I am forced to step back and realize what an amazing experience this has been. I have seen many things from the Great Barrier Reef to the Sydney Habour Bridge, but that has not been the highlight of my trip. What has truly made me happy is the people I have met, ranging from countries all over the world including Germany, Norway, South Africa, New Zealand, and many more. It has opened my mind to how diverse this world is. Sometimes one becomes sheltered in their own routine at home and to be able to step out of that and experience what I have done is my life changing experience.

Cheers
